Market Analyst Kevin Cook gets the scoop on the Chicago Trading Experience and investment pointers from Anthony Drager of www.ANTTradingInc.com and J.B. Moloney of www.OrderFlowTrader.com
Kevin Cook: J.B., what’s your background?
J.B. Moloney: I’ve been trading for 15 years now. In 2003, I made the switch to independent and decided that I wanted to capitalize on intraday movements in the market. My edge in the market is that I can trade the order flow that comes in and out of that market in the 30-year bonds.
KC: And Anthony, what’s your background?
AD: I’ve been in the business 15 years, nine of which I’ve been trading electronically. What I try to convey to people is you want to try to pick something that fits your style and personality. And then I try to keep it practical when I teach people. With gold, if you’re trading gold and you don’t know what silver is doing, you’re missing something. You want to stay on top of your correlating markets, and it’s your job to disseminate what the next right side of the market will be.
KC: You’ve also been mentoring for a number of years.
AD: That’s right. Knowing where the market’s going to go is one thing, you have to be able to execute and manage your risk and make more when you’re right than lose more when you’re wrong.
KC: Your first live event is going to be you two. What are people going to get from you that they’re not going to get anywhere else?
JM: They’re going to get a full trading plan. One of the biggest goals is to shorten the learning curve for traders. We are very confident that in this event, they’ll walk away with a confident trading plan.
KC: What’s unique about the Chicago Trading Experience?
AD: On the last day, you actually get to see real live trading. We’re not just teaching out strategies. On Monday with live markets, you see that it’s applied. We practice what we preach. They see us apply all the different strategies they learn. They leaven Chicago and they can duplicate what they learned over the weekend.
