DIS did not announce any news this morning, but we saw heavy buying action out of the gate. The January 32.5 calls have traded 7,500 times on the day, and we saw several blocks trade near the ask price of 90 cents. We also saw the January 32.5 straddle expand slightly to $1.78 from $1.75 yesterday afternoon.
Wal-Mart (WMT) shares are up five cents to $54.03 this morning, and the market expects the company to announce earnings figures sometime around Feb. 18. The January 52.5 puts have crossed the tape 7,600 times, and we saw a large block trade at an ask price of 55 cents. It looks like an investor bought these puts anticipating a near-term slide in the stock.
