Out of the gate, more than 7,000 July 17.5 calls crossed in Smithfield Foods (SFD), which climbed 25 cents to $15.21 out of the gate. It looks like investors bought these calls expecting potential upside in the stock.
Deutsche Bank (DB) announced earnings yesterday and posted a quarterly profit. The stock dropped 12 cents to $59.48 out of the gate. The July 55 puts crossed 5,000 times thanks to sellers who collected roughly $5 per contract.
Williams Companies (WMB) is scheduled to announce earnings on Feb. 18 before the market opens. Analysts expect earnings of 33 cents a share. The stock dropped 40 cents to $20.07, and we saw an investor buy a calendar spread out of the gate. The August 20 calls and the May 20 calls crossed 14,000 times, and an investor paid 50 cents per calendar spread.
