11:11 AM Eastern Standard Time, 03/08/2010 (MidnightTrader) — Helix Energy Solutions Group (HLX) is up as it looks to divest its entire oil and gas business.
The energy group said it will concentrate on becoming a contracting services company focused on deepwater well intervention and subsea construction.
Shares opened at $12.09, and have traded between $3.49 and $16.92 over the past 12 months.
Helix did not give details on a timeline, but stated that its executive vice president of oil and gas, Robert Murphy, will be leaving the company as it prepares to push ahead in a new direction.
Last December, the company said it would divest some non-core assets including some or part of its oil and gas operations.
