10:43 AM Eastern Daylight Time, 03/19/2010 (MidnightTrader) — DirecTV (DTV) is off more than 2% and at the low end of its trading range, after Citigroup downgraded the stock this morning mainly over valuation.
Shares have been under steady selling pressure since the bell, opening down 23 cents at $34.37 and falling to a low $33.80, where it’s currently trading.
Analyst Jason Bazinet cut the stock to "hold" from "buy," but stuck to his $38 price target. He said the move was dictated because the stock trades at a premium to rival Dish Network (DISH), at 12.8x estimated 2010 unlevered free cash flow, versus 10.3x for DISH. The premium valuation suggests most of the good news is already priced into the stock, he added.
